XLGraph is a Windows (3.1 or '95) program that is useful for general graphing of XL-A and XL-I data and performing data transformations and file utility functions. The program was originally developed for in-house use at Amgen. Earlier versions of this program were called XLAGraph and were distributed along with the program SVEDBERG. XLGraph is primarily intended as a rapid utility for: 1. viewing and printing XL-A(I) scans, with or without baselines subtracted 2. performing simple transformations of the data such as Ln(c) versus radius^2 / 2 graphs 3. performing file utility functions such as baseline subtraction and scan averaging, altering the comments stored with the data, and viewing the .LOG file associated with a scan. Many of these same things can, of course, also be done by the Beckman Origin package. Doing them in XLGraph is, however, often much more rapid and convenient because of its ability to find and rapidly load many scans (up to 100) at once. XLGraph can read data using either the file format and file-naming conventions of the old XL-A DOS data acquisition program or the newer Windows XL-A(I) data acquisition (and automatically detects the convention being used when each file is read). The features and capabilities of XLGraph are described in somewhat more detail in the file XLGRAPH.TXT that is distributed with the program. Certain commands and menu choices related to graph formatting and graphing options are documented in a Windows Help file. There is, however, no other specific program documentation available. The program and other files are supplied as a self-extracting archive program, XLGRyynn.EXE, where yy and nn are the year and sequence (to indicate the versions). Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 must be running for installation. Further information about installation can be found in the file INSTALL.TXT that should be found at the same location. I hope you find this program useful! John Philo jphilo@mailway.com
